Rose Ann Nickel Passes Away

Saturday, your Alumni Center learned that Rose Ann Nickel h95, 92, passed away. She joins her husband, Dr. Ted Nickel h95, who entered their Heavenly home on January 15, 2012. 

Arrangements include a service which will be Saturday, August 11, 2018, 1:00 pm, at First Missionary Church, 701 W Rudisill Blvd with an hour of calling prior to the service. Calling at D.O. McComb & Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Avenue, Friday, August 10, 2018, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. The family will have a private burial service.

According to the Nickel’s endowed scholarship agreement finalized last September, Dr. Ted and Rose Ann arrived on the campus of Fort Wayne Bible College (FWBC), later named Taylor University Fort Wayne (TUFW), in 1962. He became the chair of the Department of Education and the Director of Student Teaching. Ted had experience both in the classroom and as an administrator. Rose Ann worked in the library, where she also impacted the students on campus and in their home. In 1995, the Nickels were given alumni status for their long-tenured commitment to Christ-centered and Biblically anchored education. The Nickels had three children, David, an artist, Janet, a missionary in western Africa, and Gordon, an educational administrator, all who went to Fort Wayne Bible College. Dr. Nickel retired in 1992, and Rose Ann retired in 1996.
