Our Fort Wayne Reunion Weekend will look a little different this year, but no less festive!

Class of 1969 – 50th Reunion

The Class of 1969’s 50th Reunion will meet informally on Friday, Sept. 20 at Roger and Carol Ringenberg’s home, across from the campus, for fellowship and catching up.

The next day, according to our Fort Wayne tradition, the class will meet at Ramseyer Retreat Center at The Summit, 1025 W. Rudisill Blvd., for a breakfast provided by the Fort Wayne Alumni Center and prepared by Susi Jones g70 and her team of helpers.

This time will include a recognition of faculty and staff who are able to join us, a review of the class years at the college by a video review, a class photo, and the distributing of Memory Books to those class members who submitted biographies and current photos. Following a break, a time of prayer, singing, and fellowship will conclude the morning.

Planned activities will likely wrap up before lunch. Participants may spend the remaining part of the day as they choose. Also, for the first time, there is no registration fee for this reunion; rather, donations of any amount to the Alumni Center will be accepted. Overnight accommodations are available for a fee at Ramseyer Retreat Center.

Committee members for the 50th reunion include: John Garner, Naomi (Buckels) Heidelberg, Linda (Trail) Maricle, Jay and Shirley (Mertz) Platte and Roger Ringenberg. Further details and a list those planning to attend can be found at https://fwalumnicenter.org/connect/events/2019-reunion-weekend/index.

Class of 1979 – 40th Reunion

The Class of 1979’s 40th Reunion will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at The Summit in the Crossroads Bible College space in the Eicher Commons on Saturday, Sept. 21. Special thanks to Jeanne (Mohr) Crafton g78 for providing this space.

Nancy Raney g79 and her committee (Gary Ringenberg g79, Jan (Mast) Longcor g79, and Joy (Bixler) Forbes) g77 have planned this reunion for anyone identifying with the Class of ’79. A flyer outlining the day’s activities was sent to all class members; however, if you did not receive your copy, let us know at alumnifw@taylor.edu.

Cost is $12 per person, and this includes a continental breakfast, Chick-Fil-A lunch, and snacks.

Please join your classes in making these reunions a great time together!

Soon, your Fort Wayne Alumni Center will be contacting class officers and those interested in pulling together reunions for classes ending in ’0 or ’5. We are also open to hosting specialty or cluster reunions.

“Those that form a team now with our guidance and assistance often have the best results,” Michael Mortensen g91, director, explained. “Stephanie [(Cox) Demorest g93], Alumni Center coordinator, does an excellent job assisting each class with best-practices, class lists, access to our archives, and mailings. While we must rely on volunteers to do more of the planning, we take pleasure in serving those that plan, which leads to a better time for all.”
