Resurrection of Jesus

Luke 24:37

Another reaction to the resurrection of Christ is shared in Luke 24:37.

“They thought that they were seeing a ghost.”

For some the road of spiritualizing seems so logical. It could not have been a literal, physical resurrection. So they suggest that only the spirit was raised. However, the evidence does not permit such a view. The epitaph spoken by the angel is clear,

“He is not here, He is risen.”

And the appearances of the Master emphasize the physical reality of the body. When Thomas met His Lord, Christ urged him to touch his hands and side. He also ate with the disciples. He wanted them to know He was more than spirit. He was flesh and blood.
