Better Way To GiveBy Michael Mortensen Published: Sep 06, 2018
Your Alumni Center has found a more convenient and cost-effective way to make online contributions.
We’ve partnered with Tithe.ly, a popular online giving organization founded and designed by pastors to help individuals give tithes and offerings to their congregations. Michael Mortensen g91, director of the Fort Wayne Alumni Center, explained that switching to the Tithe.ly software, which includes an app for iPhone and Android phones, saves budget dollars.
When you click on the giving button, “Donate online today,” a cleaner, less-cluttered form appears that enables you to give online either by credit card or eCheck.
Alumni and friends can also set up reoccurring gifts to provide for our kingdom work. If you are donating by credit card, you may also choose to cover the credit card processing fee.
Gifts can be given to support one of the following (see drop-down menu on the upper right side)
- Fort Wayne Alumni Center Fund – This provides our ministry of caring for alumni and friends from Fort Wayne Bible Institute/College, Summit Christian College, and Taylor University Fort Wayne by connecting and celebrating.
- Special Projects Fund – This provides special projects not funded by our budget (equipment and software, Fort Wayne archive supplies, Alumni Center renovations, etc.)
- FW Dependent Scholarship Fund – This provides approximately $35,000 annually in scholarship dollars for dependents of Fort Wayne campus alumni and former faculty and employees, who had at least two years of service, to attend Taylor University in Upland, IN.
While receipted by Taylor University, 100% of all gifts are deposited into the Fort Wayne Alumni Center’s budget to fulfill our ministry. Alumni and friends can now choose to pay for the processing fees to maximize their gifts to the Alumni Center. Once gifts are submitted, ministry partners will receive a tax-deductible receipt at the email address you
